Air leaked, drifting him in gentle circles. Ice crystallized in a gentle spray as it hit vacuum. The gauge dipped to red.
The odds of finding someone adrift in space are astronomical (excuse the pun). Even if you have telemetry on the collision, ejection, primary and secondary explosions the simulation takes hours to build. Survivors usually have minutes.
And you can’t swim in space. Nothing to swim against. Without thrust there is no way to control trajectory or speed. You inherit it from everything that can pass kinetic energy. Like your last breath, exhaled just so.
A final kiss, blown.

Little Windows
There is something about a window. It can be a barrier, keeping the world out or the danger in. Or it can be a portal, thin enough to press into and step through. They are snapshots of other places, or reflections of our own lives. Windows let us see into, and out of ourselves. They grant us light, and space, and yet keep us safe. Windows are gateways.
Which is what I need right now. A gateway into my own creativity, and a place to channel my ideas. This little blog is the first of many little steps I am trying to take that will put me on a path to creating new things. Being creative. A step towards doing, instead of thinking. As zefrank said, going from zero to one.
I have several ideas that for this blog that I'd like to turn into regular features here. I intend to start each of them in the next few days. I intend to take little steps towards making something new, expanding my creativity, and perhaps broadening my perspectives enough to see something new in my own life. Peek out through the blinds covering my window, and see the strange and beautiful world that is just on the other side.
Strange little things, windows. How they can be a portal and a barrier.
